Mid-week

We have a whole range of mid-week groups and activities.  The stuff below is just a starting point.  If you want more detail, just contact us - we'd love to tell you more so you can get plugged in.

Small groups

Throughout the week various small groups meet in homes and in our building. These groups are built around friendship and study of the Bible. These include a weekly Bible study for international students, our Tuesday Fellowship – a coffee morning and service for the elderly, groups for women and other study groups.

Students

We’re located 300 metres from the West Entrance of the University of Nottingham, and our building is surrounded by the UPP Broadgate Park halls of residence. We love having students as part of our church and about 80 students are part of our congregation during term time.

‘The Student Room’ meets after our Sunday evening service from about 8pm-9.30pm. Each week in term time you can get a free hot meal and the opportunity to discuss how the good news of Jesus changes every part of life.

We also have a Student Weekend away on the last weekend of January which is a great opportunity to get to know students from different years who come to BFree.

International Students and Scholars

We love to welcome people from around the globe. We realise moving to a new country can be hard and are eager to help you adjust to life in the UK. If you’re new to church we’d love to help you begin to explore Christianity, and if you are a Christian we’d love to help you grow during your time here.

Here are some of our regular activities:

Globe Cafe

Mondays 8:00-10:00pm An informal café where you can enjoy fun activities and discussion with local Christians. A great place to make new friends, practice English and share cultures. Visit our facebook page here.

Compass

Compass is a welcoming space for internationals at Beeston Free Church to connect, build friendships, grow in faith, and become part of our wider church family.

Whether you’re an international student, a working professional, or living locally with your family, you belong here!

What Compass is all about:

 Connecting & Community: Building meaningful friendships and helping you feel truly at home in Beeston.

Socials & Fun: Gathering for regular events, shared meals, and good times together.

 Faith & Growth: Exploring what it means to walk with Christ, sharing stories, asking questions, and supporting one another through the gospel.

Cameo

Alternate Thursdays 1:00-2:30pm A friendship group for wives of international students and scholars where you can make friends, practice speaking English, enjoy activities and learn about other cultures. Women of any faith and culture and their children are welcome.

CAMEO meets at the church building and is free to attend. Refreshments are provided. We look forward to meeting you!

20s and 30s

We have a thriving community of 20s and 30s at Beeston Free Church who enjoy spending time together and welcoming new people into our church family. Find out more here.

Children and Young People

Throughout the week we host various activities for school age children.

Under Fives (for pre-school children and their parents/carers) meets on Mondays from 9.45-11.15am. Come along for play time, story time and a chance to connect with other parents/carers over tea, coffee and cake.

Total Tuesdays (for children of primary school age) meets on Tuesdays from 5.45-7.15pm. We do quizzes, games and crafts, whilst learning from the Bible about who Jesus is and what He has done.

Alta (for young people of secondary school age) meets on Fridays from 7-9pm, for a bible study, time to socialise and make friends.

Sunday Groups for those aged 0 - year 6 during our 9.15 am & 11.15am services. 

Holiday Club (for children of primary school age) is run during the Summer Holidays. Contact the Church Office for more information.



Safeguarding our Children and Young People

Beeston Free Church recognises the vulnerability of children and young people in today’s society and so operates a safeguarding policy for the protection of those in its care. All children and youth workers have also been checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service. 

To help us best care for your children we will ask you to complete a consent form when you come along for the first time. It is the parents’ responsibility to arrange transport to and from the activities. 

First Aid: Would you please inform the leader of the group(s) your child attends if he/she has any medical problem, e.g. asthma or allergies.

Men's Football Team

Beeston Free Church FC participates in the local Derby Church League, playing matches on Saturday mornings during the season. The team is a mixture of Christians from Beeston Free and other churches, and non-Christian friends, and exists to seek to glorify God through our shared love of sport.
